Business Case Study Assignments – 40% of course mark
The majority of the course work marks for Integrated Logistics come from the two business case study reports, which are each worth 20% of the final course mark.
Similar to the structure of the final business case report in Logistics Processes,
learners are challenged to analyze the scenario provided, and apply the
skills and knowledge gained throughout the course to prepare a detailed
3,500 word report including a high-level executive summary. The two
case studies are interconnected and progressive, with the information
developed in the first case study necessary to complete the second case
study.
Group Discussion Assignments – 10% of course mark
Online group discussions engage students in reflection, dialogue and
debate around the weekly topic, challenge students to apply the course
material in real world business scenarios, and enable students to learn
from their classmates and facilitator in addition to the course
materials.
Online group discussion marks are based on the quality, quantity and
timeliness of responses in the discussions. In general, students are
expected to contribute 3-4 high-level comments throughout each week.
Highest marks are given for comments that:
- offer substantive ideas to the discussion
- provide major insights or direction for the group
- demonstrate excellent preparation and familiarity with the relevant course materials
- reflect relevant professional experiences of the learner
- help to clarify or synthesize ideas
- use direct quotes from the readings or other materials to support the discussion
- respond critically to other learners’ comments
- are shared early in the week to give other learners time to read and respond
